Okuma’s aluminum housing technology is used in both spinning and baitcasting reels. The aluminum housing is very stiff and can withstand an amazing amount of pressure and torsion. These housings also enable precise tolerance between moving components, thus allowing for smoother operation and improved durability.

The XL Gearing logo indicates that the reel features larger gears and drag system. The drag surface is more than 50% larger than in regular reels.
